Glossary¶

This glossary defines the key terms used throughout the Dingwei Battery technical documentation.

Electrical Terms¶

CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) — the current a battery can deliver for 30 seconds at a defined cold temperature before dropping below a cut-off voltage. See CCA Testing.
Ah (Amp-hour) — a measure of battery capacity; the current a battery can deliver over a defined period. See Capacity & Reserve.
RC (Reserve Capacity) — the number of minutes a battery can deliver a defined current before dropping below cut-off voltage.
C20 Rate — the standard 20-hour discharge rate for capacity measurement.

Flooded (wet cell) — traditional lead-acid battery with liquid electrolyte.
AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) — a lead-acid battery where the electrolyte is absorbed in a glass mat, enabling higher performance and spill resistance.
EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) — an improved flooded battery for start-stop vehicles.

JIS — Japanese Industrial Standard (N-series group sizes).
DIN — Deutsches Institut für Normung (European size classes).
BCI — Battery Council International (North American group sizes).
SAE — Society of Automotive Engineers (−18°C CCA test).
EN — European Norm (−18°C CCA test).
Group Size — a standard classification defining a battery's physical dimensions and terminal layout.

OEM — Original Equipment Manufacturing; building to the buyer's specification.
ODM — Original Design Manufacturing; branding an existing manufacturer design.
Private Label — applying your brand to a manufacturer's product.
MOQ — Minimum Order Quantity.
Lead Time — the total time from confirmed order to delivery.

IATF 16949 — automotive quality management system standard.
ISO 9001 — general quality management system standard.
ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001 — occupational health and safety standards.
COA (Certificate of Analysis) — a document certifying a product's tested specifications.
